My SlideShare – Egads

I just tried using SlideShare and hopefully understood the “embed” directions correctly. It appears you cannot just have the video play within a WordPress blog, so a link is necessary, hence mine does not look as lovely as some other blogs. I am attemtping to connect to my SlideShare here. My microphone is on the fritz at the moment, so I’ll have to add my voice to this later in the week when I get a new one!

Here is a link to my slideshare powerpoint:

I chose to do SlideShare instead of Jing because I am not enjoying downloading infrastructure. I like websites, such as SlideShare and WordPress, that I can log into from any computer. Being an adjunct who is necessarily nomadic on campus depending on my access to an office, dowloading software is not only not an option for me, it is impractical both as a student in this class and as an isntructor who would think of using it for a class I was going to teach.

    Erica,
Very cool! Thanks for sharing your slideshare. I teach writing also, and I liked the content of your presentation.

Hi Erica, Thanks for your gracious comments on my blog http://www.kimsthinking.blogspot.com/ .
I know you said you were not keen to download Jing, but I must say it is one of the easiest tools I have ever used. I have it downloaded on both laptop and netbook now , you just use it to record your screen then upload the doc to screencast. Check out my latest post, I finally nailed it – maybe not my best work but I am so satisfied that I could actually upload some sort of visual presentation with audio.

      Kim,
Yay! It looks great! Nice work 🙂 Well, based on your comments I’m thinking I should reconsider Mr. Jing 🙂 It’s not as is I mastered SlideShare anyway, but I do like the idea of SlideShare. I appreciate your feedback. I’m always more encourgaed when I hear someone say the word “easy” 😉

    Aloha,
I often use Flickr Creative Commons pictures to put images in my slides.

      Hi Greg,

Interesting! I like this idea of Creative Commons a lot. So you go there, find stuff you like, and simply add it to your Powerpoints? I’m going to peruse this a bit more 🙂

On a separate note – I get the feeling by some of the questions posed each week are supposed to question the set up of the syllbus and online course that is presented in the textbook. What do you think? I rather like the book’s examples, but sort of feel like saying so means I’m not bucking the norm, lol. Although, I do not know where I’m getting the impression I need to buck the norm. I’m curious to hear your thoughts 🙂
